International Student life

Get involved with student life on campus

Studying at the International Study Centre is not all about learning in class. Here, you will get a well-rounded education which will also allow you to discover your personal and social interests, and make friends for life.

There is more to studying at the International Study Centre than just what you learn in class. Aside from your world-class education, you will discover and develop your personal interests, find new passions, make new friends and experience everything Egham has to offer.

Top things to do in the local area

Royal Holloway is located close to the village of Englefield Green, which is just a ten-minute walk from the town of Egham. With fast rail connections, it offers great day trips and easy access to both London and some of the UK’s top sporting venues, such as Wimbledon and Twickenham. Some great days out include:

  • Cycle, run, or walk through the 4,800-acre Windsor Great Park near Royal Holloway.
  • Take a short walk to Runnymede, where King John sealed the Magna Carta in 1215, and enjoy the meadows along the River Thames.
  • Visit the elaborately decorated state rooms at Windsor Castle and enjoy a walk in the Great Park or a fun day at Legoland nearby.
  • Explore Richmond, known for its gardens, parks, theatres, galleries, and upscale shops.
  • Enjoy easy access to London’s attractions, with many museums like the National Gallery and Tate Modern offering free entry.

London offers everything from big glamorous shops to small, highly individual market stalls. Popular markets include Camden Lock and Spitalfields while Borough Market is a paradise for food lovers.

“I like that the campus is very quiet and it’s quite serene here, it’s not like you’re on a city campus where it can feel crowded at times. Here you get a really relaxed environment and you feel like everyone is part of the community.”

Become a Student Ambassador

We have an exciting opportunity available at the International Study Centre to develop your social media skills and contribute to our social channels!

Get involved in taking over our social media, writing fun blogs, hosting Q&A sessions, shining bright at events, starring in our marketing materials, sharing your daily activities, and creating engaging content through photos and videos.

Of course, this would also be an impressive experience worth adding to your CV. Once your Student Ambassador role comes to a finish, you will receive a LinkedIn recommendation from us based on your performance.

“Choosing to apply to the student ambassador position was way out of my comfort zone, I can just be honest about that. But I'm grateful for the opportunity and it made me get more skills and apply them in my daily life. It made me more open to speaking to different people and getting different perspectives from other ambassadors” – Awrad, a previous Student Ambassador
